Application procedure for exchange (Erasmus, Tempus and Faculty Exchange Agreement) students

K.U.Leuven only accepts exchange students in the framework of the official EU exchange programmes or as part of one of the many formally signed exchange agreements between K.U.Leuven and partner institutions abroad. If your home university is not involved in an exchange agreement with K.U.Leuven in your field of study, you will not be accepted as an exchange student. It is important that you check this out first.

At K.U.Leuven, the application process for exchange students takes place at faculty level. Therefore, you should always contact the K.U.Leuven faculty/department of your choice through the exchange programme co-ordinator of your home university. The hosting K.U.Leuven faculty/department will provide you with all the information you require, including details on courses and programmes.

Application Form and online application instructions

Should the contact person in your home university be unable to supply you with the name of the appropriate contact person at K.U.Leuven, the following list may be able to help you out. Once the hosting Leuven faculty/department has accepted you as an exchange student, you will receive a letter of admission, allowing you to register as an exchange student. The brochure Living in Leuven, a town map and information concerning orientation days for international students will be sent to you as well.
