Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium
How to reach Leuven by car?
Leuven is situated near the crossing of two major motorways:
the E40 (coming from Brussels-Gent-Brugge-
Oostende or Luik(Liège)-Aken-Keulen-...) and
the E314 (coming
from Hasselt-Genk, the south-eastern part of the Netherlands-the
northern part of Germany-...) see map.
If you take the E40 (coming from Brussels - direction
Luik (Liège))
you will need to branch off onto the E314 'Hasselt-Leuven-Genk'
motorway. You then take the first slip road almost
immediately after leaving the
E40, which will be signposted 'Leuven (15)' (this is
the N264).
If
you take the E314 (coming from Hasselt, ... or the
Netherlands, Germany) you also take a slip road for 'Leuven (15)'.
However this time it is the last slip road for Leuven
(after the 'Diensten en U.Z.' slip road). You arrive then
on the same slip road (N264) as if you had taken the E40. Be
careful here as this is a dangerous junction because
your slip road will be merging from the left hand side!
In both cases, in order to find the Faculty Club ,
you continue on this road (N264), you cross two traffic-lights, and at
the third traffic-light you
turn right in the direction of 'Naamsepoort' (you are
now on the Leuven
ring road, see map).
You have to immediately put yourself in the left hand lane on this road,
because just before the next traffic-lights at the 'Naamsepoort' you
have to
do a U-turn in order to be on the other side of the
ring going in the opposite direction (see map) .
About 100 meters further on you will see on your right hand a Q8 petrol
station, then next to it a restaurant
called 'Waaiberg' and then a sign indicating
'Domein Groot Begijnhof'. You
drive in here
- this is the Faculty Club car park.
!! If you come by car, you will have to take a ticket to enter the
parking of the Faculty Club. You must have the ticket validated at the
reception
of the Faculty Club in order to leave the parking in the evening.
The ticket is valid for only 24 hours!!
Probably the digital
city map of
Leuven can help you to find the specific location (search on: Straatnaam
= Naamsevest).
You can also outline the road to Leuven by making use of one
of these routeplanners:

of parking lots in Leuven.
