K.U.Leuven has risen from the 72nd to the 65th place in the ranking of the top 100 universities in the world published by The Times Higher Education Supplement in October. Leuven is the only Belgian university in the top 100.

The Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School was ranked tenth worldwide in the full-time MBA ranking published by The Economist. Is has risen four places since the last edition, in which it was ranked fourteenth. Vlerick combines the management expertise of K.U.Leuven and the University of Gent.

K.U.Leuven has acquired a place in the Excellence Group of the CHE-Excellence Rankings 2009, in the fields of political science, economics and psychology. This ranking by the German Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung endeavours to provide candidate Master’s and PhD students with a comparison of the best research centres in Europe.
