Look at Leuven

New on the Campus Insight website: a special link to video reports of important events at K.U.Leuven. Here is a selection of the videos:

- On 13 November, the new American ambassador to Belgium, Howard Gutman, visited K.U.Leuven. He delivered a speech to a packed Promotion Hall and afterwards visited the Central University Library.

- On 24 November, K.U.Leuven awarded an honorary doctorate to Willem P. Roelandts, the retired Chair of the Board and CEO of Xilinx, Inc., in recognition of his introduction of a management philosophy in semiconductor business, stimulating innovation and establishing a culture focused on human values.

- On 25 June, the inauguration of the James E. Kearney Memorial Fund took place. The fund supports the research of Professor Stefaan Van Gool, which is related to the use of immunotherapy to treat malignant brain tumours.

- Every term, the International Office organises Orientation Days to help new international students to get acquainted with Leuven and the university. The video shows a report on the Orientation Days last September.

- The short film ‘Student in Leuven’, tells the story of a day in the life of a student band. The video was shot in many typical student locations throughout the city, including a lecture hall, the Central Library, a laboratory, the city park… and, of course, a student bar.

- The short film ‘Leuven’ follows a tourist and a businesswoman on a visit to Leuven. Through their eyes we are shown all of Leuven's attractions, such as the station, the city hall, St. Peter’s Church, the Beguinage, the Botanical Gardens and Museum M.
