Research topic
Ruth Dassonneville is a Ph. D. fellow of the Research Foundation – Flanders (Belgium) (FWO) and joined the Centre for Citizenship and Democracy in 2010. Her research focuses on electoral volatility and its link with voting behaviour, as increasing levels of electoral volatility have challenged traditional models of voting behaviour. The project has particular attention for volatility among the younger age cohorts. This is done, on the one hand, because it is consistently shown that the younger age cohorts are most volatile. On the other hand, this focus is driven by the finding that it is highly and increasingly unclear what determines vote choices among the youngest generations.
