Looking at political socialisation among adolescents, one can't ignore the influence of schooling. Research suggests that youngsters lack of interest in politics, the attitude towards foreigners, the trust in institutions and in general can and should be positively influenced by citizenship education. My Ph.D. focuses on the importance of good citizenship education in the preparation of young people to take part in society, using the 2006 data of the Belgian Youth Survey.
