Case 3. Anterior and posterior subglottic stenosis.
63-year-old female presenting with
circumferential subglottic stenosis
after intubation during a 2 weeks period.
There is ankylosis of the arytenoids.
Stenosis ends at lower margin of the
cricoid cartilage.

Tracheal reconstruction case 3 (Click

CT scan of stenosis.

Schematic presentation of reconstruction. The larynx is incised in
the anterior and posterior midline. A rib cartilage graft (1)
is placed posteriorly. The mucosa-lined fascia (2)
will be inserted anteriorly. A silicone tracheal stent (3)
is tailored to support the reconstruction
during 1 month.
