Special examination arrangements for students with a serious medical condition
Conditions
You must suffer from a serious medical condition. The fact that you do must be confirmed by two certificates from your examining doctor.
Application
Your application should be submitted to the Director of Student Administration as soon as possible, i.e.:
- For the January examination period: by one week before the beginning of the Christmas holidays at the latest (11 December 2009).
- For the June examination period: before the Easter holidays (26 March 2010).
- In very exceptional circumstances, you may submit your application after the deadline. Please contact the Director of Student Administration via e-mail as soon as possible to do so: examenspreiding@kuleuven.be
Your application should include:
- A completed application form (Word, 34KB)
- A medical certificate that does not provide a diagnosis, but in which your examining doctor supports your application by providing an estimation of the gravity and expected duration of your condition and reduced abilities.
- A medical certificate, sent to the consulting doctor at K.U.Leuven in a sealed envelope, which details the diagnosis, corroborated by an extensive, recent medical report by your examining doctor or specialist.
Decision
You will be informed of the Director of Student Administration’s decision shortly after we have received you application and the recommendation of the consulting doctor of K.U.Leuven.
In the event that your application is approved, the certificate will be posted to your home address. You must then contact the relevant office at your faculty with this certificate.
The certificate serves as an official proof of the approval of your application and must be taken to all the exams you reschedule outside the ordinary examination period.
