KU Leuven welcomes a top delegation from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) of China
On 15 September 2011 Vice Rector for International Policy, Prof. Bart De Moor, welcomed a top delegation from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) in China. This delegation was headed by Ms. Li Bing, Deputy Administrator of the organisation.
In the company of Mr. Wang Haiyang (General Director of the China International Talent Exchange Foundation) and Mr. Yi Fanping (Chief Representative of the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel) she paid a visit to KU Leuven in order to explore opportunities for joint efforts in the framework of the Overseas Training Programme for Chinese University Presidents. As part of the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015) SAFEA is identifying strategic partners to enhance the quality and influence of the overseas training for Chinese professionals and to improve international exchanges and cooperation.In the past most links were established with the US and Australia.More recently the Administration has expanded the cooperation for the training of professionals from over 100 Chinese key universities to European institutions, amongst which IMEC and maybe KU Leuven and other high tech research institutions in the near future.
