Dear student,

Welcome to Lerkeveld, a house with a rich history.  Several communities live together here: students in the North and South sides of the building, Jesuits in the front house.  Every week hundreds of guests walk in and out for a visit or a moment of reflection, a conference or a congress, or to borrow a book from the library of Father Monden (+), etc… As you can see: this is an open and hospitable house. 

In Lerkeveld we offer more than just a room. We work together with the Dondeynehuis, a project at the KU Leuven, founded by Jesuits in 1994, located at the centre of Leuven.  The Dondeynehuis and Lerkeveld give students the opportunity to integrate their studies in a broader socio-cultural context. Therefore we offer a 'House Program' built on three pillars: a social, a cultural and a religious pillar. Within those three pillars we organize seminars, modules and activities. 

Our house provides offices for a number of organizations we are in close contact with. Examples thereof are the SPES (Spirituality, Economy and Society) Academy and the SPES Forum. 

As a student in this large residence 'you never walk alone'. For decades the 'Lerkies' enjoy a smoothly running students' council. Each corridor has a representative. In room 98 in the North Wing lives Mattijs Ameye, the resident of Lerkeveld. Mattijs is the first contact point for all kinds of questions and problems.  His email address is resident@lerkeveld.be.
