Research Interests

  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD): author of the finite element code FENST-2D (Finite Elements for Navier-Stokes, Sediment Transport & Turbulence).

  • Fine-grained (cohesive) sediment transport mechanics:
    • Modelling of sediment-laden turbulent flow
    • Mud rheology
    • Modelling of the dynamic behaviour (consolidation, fluidisation and liquefaction) of cohesive sediment beds
    • Erosion and deposition
