Belgium has the honour of having a young but strong and creative jazz scene.To motivate the continuation and growth of this specific culture, jazz clubs and bars arose in Belgium. By giving jazz artists a place to bring their music live, the clubs are able to entertain their visitors in a way that is unique. Visiting a jazz club is indulging yourself in an atmosphere of wooden interiors, relaxing music and mysterious lightning.

A little more information on their jam sessions:
The Live Artistical Behaviour Organisation is responsible for the programming and organisation of the activities in Studio Athanor. Concerts, special evenings but also the recording of concerts, the creation of websites for groups, the organisation of expositions in the gallery of Îlot Sacré and much more.
Every Thursday the musicians of the L.A.B.O.-collectif share their passion for jazz music and bring homage to the great masters of jazz. Through their repertoir the musicians bring famous themes back to live or present less known authors which inspire them. Every month there is a new theme and evrey Thursday evening the doors of Studio Athanor are opened to a curious public that is eager to learn. At the end of the session there is always a jam session with guest musicians.
Very particular for this Club are the courses which are organized for musicians who want to to learn the true "groupwork" or those who want to develop it further. Under the supervision of professional musicians combo's of eight persons learn how to play together. Every combo works together for eight weeks and brings a performance on stage in the Club. Through jazz classics attention is also given to other rhythms and genres. The courses take place every Wednesday evening from 20h till 22h. At the end of a course a jam session is held for all musicians.
