Application procedure for exchange students

K.U.Leuven does not accept exchange students outside of existing exchange programmes or exchange agreements! If your home university does not have an exchange agreement with K.U.Leuven, you will not be accepted as an exchange student.

At K.U.Leuven, the application process for exchange students is administered in the faculties and departments. Therefore, you should always contact the K.U.Leuven faculty/department of your choice through the exchange programme coordinator at your home university. The K.U.Leuven faculty/department will provide you with all the information you require, including information on courses and programmes, and with the appropriate application forms.

You can also download the application form.   Please do not send the filled-out form to the International Relations Office! Send it to the faculty/department coordinator at K.U.Leuven in charge of the exchanges with your home university. Should the contact person at your home university be unable to supply you with the name of the appropriate contact person at K.U.Leuven, you may consult the following list.

Once you have been accepted as an exchange student by the faculty/department at K.U.Leuven, you will receive a permission to register as an exchange student, the brochure Information for Exchange Students, a guide on Living in Leuven, a town map and information on the orientation days for international students.
