The faculty exchange programme between the University of Pennsylvania and the K.U.Leuven provides funding for short-term visits to K.U.Leuven by several Penn faculty members. Applications are invited from all Penn faculty interested in participating in Penn's exchange with Leuven. Knowledge of Dutch is not required. A faculty host at K.U.Leuven must be identified.

Brief description of the agreement

The faculty exchange programme between UIUC and K.U.Leuven provides funding for short-term visits to K.U.Leuven by several UIUC faculty members. Faculty applications will be evaluated by an internal UIUC committee, and nominations will be forwarded to K.U.Leuven for approval by the relevant departments. Preference will be given to applicants whose projects demonstrate the greatest potential for ongoing research and collaboration with K.U.Leuven colleagues.

1. a per diem allowance of $50/day during the first month and $30/day during subsequent months (paid by K.U.Leuven)
2. the cost of a round-trip economy airfare to Brussels (paid by UIUC). NOTE: UIUC will provide up to $800 in airfare costs. However, applicants are encouraged to apply to other campus or outside funding agencies before requesting support from the UIUC- Leuven Exchange Programme.

Kansai University - Osaka
Brief description of the agreement

The faculty exchange programme between Kansai University and K.U.Leuven provides funding for short-term visits to K.U.Leuven by faculty members.

The exchange programme for graduate and undergraduate students opens the possibility for Leuven students to study in Kansai and for Kansai students to do the same in Leuven. Qualified students from each institution will be considered for acceptance at the other as non-degree candidates. They will continue as candidates for degrees of their home institution and will be given a certificate by the host institution stating which courses they have attended. Participating students shall pursue a programme developed in consultation with the home institution and which is not in conflict with the regulations of the host institution.

1. K.U.Leuven provides each visiting scholar with free accommodation, a per diem of 2.250 BEF, medical insurance and third party liability insurance. The costs of the airfare ticket will be covered by the home university.

2. tuition fee waiver
In addition, K.U.Leuven helps students from Kansai University in their search for accommodation.

National Cheng Kung University - Tainan
Brief description of the agreement

The exchange programme for students opens the possibility for Leuven students to study at National Cheng Kung University for a period of an academic year and for Tainan students to do the same in Leuven.
Participating students shall pursue a programme developed in consultation with the home institution and which is not in conflict with the regulations of the host institution. Intermediate party in this procedure is the Cultural Division of Taipei Representative Office in Belgium.
