K.U.Leuven's
educational cooperation within Europe centers around the Socrates
programme with its European
Policy Statement. The TEMPUS
programme finances cooperation with South East Europe, the Commonwealth
of Independent States (former Soviet Union) and the North African
and Middle Eastern Mediterranean countries. In addition, K.U.Leuven
has signed a number of bilateral
agreements with European universities, and welcomes young
researchers from South East Europe in the framework of the Coimbra
Group Hospitality Scheme. |

To
attract suitable doctoral students, the university funds its
own selective bilateral agreements with Latin
America (in
English or en español).
The ALFA programme provides additional
funding for projects and exchanges with Latin America. K.U.Leuven
is involved in various development cooperation
projects in Latin America. The European Commission provides
funding for cooperation with Canada through its EU-Canada
programme. In addition, K.U.Leuven has signed a number of bilateral
agreements with U.S. universities. |
