Coimbra GroupAimsAccording to its 1987 Charter, the Coimbra Group constitutes an integrated network of European universities which was established to create special academic and cultural ties and to set up concrete and advanced facilities and privileged channels of information and exchange. The Group also wishes to encourage and foster links between majority and minority language groups. The Charter further states in particular the following aims:
WebsiteFédération Internationale des Universités Catholiques/Fédération des Universités Catholiques Européennes (FIUC/FUCE)AimsThe FIUC consists of some 200 Catholic universities and institutes of higher learning. It aims to promote among Catholic institutions of higher education and research a collective reflection on their mission, and an effective collaboration, to represent Catholic universities in international associations and organizations and to collaborate with them, to contribute to the development of Catholic Higher Studies with a particular view to the quality and the scope of university work and an appropriate distribution of the institutions in the various parts of the world. WebsiteOrganisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) - International Management in Higher Education (IMHE)AimsThe Programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE) is part of the education work of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Directorate for Education, Employment, Labour and Social Affairs. Its work is specifically focused on the management of higher education with regard to education policy. The IMHE programme considers the management implications of policy and environmental changes such as changing student expectations, the trend toward lifelong learning for all, internationalisation, technological change, new approaches to funding and demands for quality assurance and accountability. It has a unique role within Europe in bringing together fellow-professionals in all aspects of the international relations of education, throughout the continent and beyond. WebsiteEuroregional Network (NEU)AimsTo promote intensive cooperation between the member universities: K.U.Leuven, K.U.Nijmegen, Universiteit Twente, Universität Münster, Universität Dortmund, Universität Osnabrück European Universities Continuing Education Network (EUCEN)EUCEN, founded in 1991, currently boasts 179 members from 35 countries. It aims to promote high quality university continuing education throughout Europe, to influence the development of university continuing education policy and policy making at university, regional, national and European level, to encourage best practice in university continuing education actions, and to facilitate the exchange of people, ideas and innovation among its members.
