Tsinghua University - China

In the framework of the bilateral agreement between Tsinghua University Beijing and the K.U.Leuven joint scientific cooperation will be encouraged and promoted. In order to stimulate the research relationships between the two universities a 'Tsinghua Fund' is established by the K.U.Leuven for its researchers and a 'K.U.Leuven Fund' by Tsinghua University for its researchers.

The main objectives of the bilateral agreement are:

  • to develop a sustainable research cooperation between both universities
  • to create added value for the research at both universities
  • to stimulate the exchange of researchers
  • to provide a platform for obtaining international funding from other organizations with special focus on the EU-framework programmes.
