University Development Co-operation
K.U.Leuven wishes to support people-oriented sustainable development in the South. A major characteristic of the university’s development co-operation activities is that they strive to create an added value that is significant for all the parties involved, for instance through joint research activities.
Development co-operation is mainly financed by VLIR-UOS and by the K.U.Leuven Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation (in Dutch: Interfacultaire Raad voor Ontwikkelingssamenwerking, IRO).
