Prof. Marc J. Goovaerts, after a long and distinguished career at both Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and Universiteit van Amsterdam, will be accorded emeritus status in 2011. On this occasion, we will host a conference on June 13, 2011, honoring Marc's memorable contributions to the actuarial community.
As a founding editor of Insurance: Mathematics and Economics and Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Marc has been a pioneer in applied mathematics, especially actuarial mathematics. For over 35 years, Marc studied actuarial problems with passion and persistency, which led to hundreds of publications. In 2008, University of Ankara awarded him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa.
The conference programme highlights several topics in actuarial science, embodied by the invited speakers Hans Gerber, Arnold Shapiro, Elias Shiu, Ermanno Pitacco and Hailiang Yang. Members of the IA|BE receive 4 CPD points for attending this conference.
We invite you to join us in this memorable conference and look forward to seeing you in Leuven!
