The purpose of the chair is to further promote functiona] research in the pathophysio]ogy of Pelvic Floor
Dysfunction to optimise and/or validate surgical techniques in the treatment of functional anorectal pathology

(rectal prolapse syndromes) and restorative rectal surgery (rectal carcinoma).
