Allen Guttmann

Professor Guttmann is an academic of international fame. He has published ten books on the history of sport, which are considered international reference works for the programmes on kinesiology and sport science. His basic work ‘From Ritual to Record: The Nature of Modern Sport’ (1978) presents an overall synthesis of the development of modern sport in the West and is considered to be a major reference in the discipline.
