Short Personal File

Ludo Verhaegen was born in Elisabethstad (Congo) in 1961 and went to the Sint-Pieterscollege in Leuven. He is graduate nurse from the Sint-Elisabeth Institute for Nursing (Leuven) since 1983.

He worked in the Department of Oncology and Hematology (UZ Leuven) and came to the Nuclear Medicine Division in 1986. He is the chief technologist, helped the start of the PET and PET-CT and is responsible for the implementation of clinical research protocols.

He is married to Inge Wauters and father of Hendrik-Jan, Jan-Willem, Charlotte and Annelore.

His hobbies are cycling and distance running.
