Aims

The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of ancient philosophy, by studying Platonic philosophy, from Plato through the Neoplatonists. The purpose is to familiarise the students with the primary sources, and with the methods of research in order to prepare them to do independent research.

Previous knowledge

Students should have knowledge of Greek (and preferably also Latin). Also they ought to be well acquainted with the history of ancient philosophy.
