OPTEC WG3: Two-day introduction to parameter and state estimation

Mon 30 Aug 2010 09:00-17:00, ESAT 01.57
"WG3: Two-day introduction to parameter and state estimation"

General info:
This two-day introductory course is open for all OPTEC members that are interested in parameter and state estimation of mechanistic dynamic models, both from a practitioner's or from a developer's point of view. It introduces the technical vocabulary and well-known methods in the field as well as available software. Hence, people are also encouraged to bring and test their own parameter and state estimation problems.

The major aim is introducing the vocabulary and techniques allowing practitioners and algorithm developers to collaborate in an efficient way.The slides and exercises are available at (only OPTEC login required):http://www.kuleuven.be/optec/internal/groups/WG3/132.
Hence, participants can judge beforehand which sessions they would like to attend.

Newsflash

Two OPTEC professors have been awarded three "Gouden Krijtjes", the yearly teaching awards given by the organization of engineering students (vtk). Prof. Lombaert was awarded the prize for the best course in civil engineering, and Prof. Diehl the prizes for the best professor and the best course in mathematical engineering (where he teaches numerical optimization). They received these awards at the yearly "proffentap" where experienced students taught them how to draft beer professionally.
