On 23-24 November we will organize an internal two-day tutorial course on how to use the at OPTEC developed tool CasADi to solve nonlinear programming problems and dynamic optimization problems. The course will start with a 1.5 hour overview lecture to the different methods used for optimal control
given by Moritz Diehl. The lecture will take place in ESAT Auditiorium A from 9.00 to 10.30 on 23 November and is open to everyone to attend without any prior registration.

The rest of the course will consist of computer tutorials with a limited number of attendents and with registration before 16 November required.

Two OPTEC professors have been awarded three "Gouden Krijtjes", the yearly teaching awards given by the organization of engineering students (vtk). Prof. Lombaert was awarded the prize for the best course in civil engineering, and Prof. Diehl the prizes for the best professor and the best course in mathematical engineering (where he teaches numerical optimization). They received these awards at the yearly "proffentap" where experienced students taught them how to draft beer professionally.
