HD-MPC Ind. Workshop

Industry Workshop on Hierarchical and Distributed
Model Predictive Control (HD-MPC)

Leuven, 24 June 2011

The aim of this one day workshop is to present methods and applications of hierarchical and distributed Model Predictive Control (MPC) in a tutorial way. It starts with a short review of MPC and will then focus on how MPC can be applied to large scale control problems. The workshop presenters from academia and industry cooperate in a larger European Project, HD-MPC, and will focus on applications and software developed within this project.
The workshop aims for an industrial audience with a limited number of 25 participants and the program is designed such as to provide room for strong interactivity.

Newsflash

Two OPTEC professors have been awarded three "Gouden Krijtjes", the yearly teaching awards given by the organization of engineering students (vtk). Prof. Lombaert was awarded the prize for the best course in civil engineering, and Prof. Diehl the prizes for the best professor and the best course in mathematical engineering (where he teaches numerical optimization). They received these awards at the yearly "proffentap" where experienced students taught them how to draft beer professionally.
