"Optimum Experimental Design in the Light of Pontryagin's Maximum Principle"
Dr. Sebastian Sager, IWR, University of Heidelberg
We present the problem class of Optimum Experimental Design, a class of structured non-standard optimal control problems. We reformulate it until we are able to investigate sampling decisions (whether or not to measure at any given possible measurement time point / interval) by means of Pontryagin's maximum principle. We draw several conclusions from the investigations and illustrate them by means of a numerical example.
