Arriving by Plane
It is strongly recommended to fly via Brussels National Airport in Zaventem; the other one, Brussels-Charleroi, is much further off. Once arrived in Brussels-Zaventem, go to level -1 where you find direct trains to Leuven ("Louvain" in French, NOT Louvain-la-Neuve!). These trains go at least once per hour and take only 15 minutes to bring you to Leuven (timetables can be found here). Once arrived, continue as described in the following section.
Arriving by Train
When using the train, make sure you arrive at the main station of Leuven ("Louvain" in French, NOT Louvain-la-Neuve!). Once arrived, you might choose between the following options to proceed:
Taxi: Taxis are waiting for you at the main entrance of the station and will bring you to Heverlee in about 10 minutes, which will cost about 10 to 15 Euro.
Bus: There is a large bus station of The Lijn directly next to the main entrance of the train station. Take line 2 in the direction "Campus Heverlee" (NOT "Kessel-Lo") leaving every ten minutes from platform 6 (or neighbouring ones). You can buy tickets in the bus. After a ride of about 20 minutes, you leave the bus at "Kantineplein" (take care, stops are usually not announced, so ask the driver). From the bus stop Kantineplein, it is only about 100m walking towards the Arenberg Castle to reach the Electrical Engineering Department.
Arriving by Car
When coming from Brussels or Liege, use highway E40 and take exit "E314/Leuven (no. 15)". When reaching Leuven from the direction Hasselt/Eindhoven/Aachen, use highway E314 and take exit 15. Follow the road signs to "K.U.Leuven Campus Arenberg" to reach the Electrical Engineering Department within 5 minutes. Please consult an electronic route planner for detailed information.
