| 13/2004 | International Macro economics (Tenure track) The Faculty of Business and Economics at the Catholic University of Leuven has an open position for a full time assistant professor (tenure track) of International Economics. DUTIES INCLUDE Research Teaching Qualifications Successful applicants who do not speak Dutch are expected to be able to instruct in this language within three years. Proficiency in the English language is also required of all applicants. For this purpose, the university provides courses in Academic English. This position will become permanent after a positive five year probationary period (tenure track) leading to the rank of associate professor. | 13/2005 | Auditing (Tenure track) K.U.Leuven invites applications for a full-time tenure track academic position in Auditing at the Faculty of Business and Economics. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual (m/f) with an excellent research and teaching record in auditing. DUTIES INCLUDE: Research The successful candidate will support and further expand the international research collaborations in the domain of Auditing (Department Accountancy, Finance and Insurance). In addition he/she will be expected to develop an excellent research program and to achieve a scientific output in the auditing domain that adheres to the highest international standards. Teaching The successful applicant is willing to assume teaching responsibilities in various accounting and auditing programs at bachelor and master level (e.g. ‘Master in Accounting and Finance’; ‘Master in Accounting and Auditing’). He/she is expected to meet the reigning K.U.Leuven standards regarding academic program level and orientation and to adhere to the K.U.Leuven concept of education. A commitment to quality of education as a whole is naturally understood. QUALIFICATIONS Interested candidates should hold a Ph.D. or doctoral degree in Business Economics or Economics. Candidates are expected to have an excellent research record in the domain of auditing and very good teaching and training skills, in order to contribute to the research output of the department and to the quality of its educational program. The high quality of the candidate's research should be evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals, or for junior applicants by promising ongoing research projects and papers. International research experience is highly appreciated. The qualified candidate has experience in academic-based teaching in the domain of auditing and accounting. International teaching experience is highly appreciated. The qualified candidate will be teaching in the accounting programs of K.U.Leuven. At K.U.Leuven the main language of instruction is Dutch. Successful applicants who are not proficient in Dutch, will be provided language training in order to be able to also instruct in the Dutch language within three years time. It is an appointment of up to 20% for a period of three years (with possible extension). DUTIES INCLUDE: Research The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with members of the Research Group Accounting (Department Accountancy, Finance and Insurance). He/she will assist actively in the implementation of the current research and will support and further expand the international research projects of the Research Group Accounting. In addition he/she will be expected to develop and support an excellent research program and to achieve a scientific output in the accounting domain that adheres to the highest international standards. The successful applicant is willing to provide a number of research seminars in the field of Accounting and to organize courses for Ph.D. students in the the field of Accounting.
