Research activities in this laboratory mainly deal with the exocrine system in social insects (ants, bees, wasps), which are investigated morphologically and behaviourally. This project for the greater part concerns fundamental research, although indirect links toward eventual applications are to be found in the use of the insect's own pheromonal communication system as a source of biological control.
