Measurement, Modelling and Management of Biosignals/ Bioresponses in processes by real-time monitoring and modelling of individual humans, animals and plants. Living organisms are Complex, Individually different, Time-varying and Dynamic (CITD) systems and by monitoring them continuously, individuals can be monitored, modelled and controlled. Continuous measurements are taken by image analyses, sound analyses or sensors. This concept applies to different fields such as patiens in intensive care, elderly people with dementia, sleep monitoring for drivers, condition monitoring/controlling for sports, welfare and health monitoring for humans and livestock.

Development of mathematical techniques to control biological processes in a more efficient way. Measurements of micro- environmental variables in processes and measurement of process emissions such as NH3, CO2 in relation to the environment. Engineering techniques to measure biological responses (image analyses, sound analysis, integrated sensors,...) on man, animal, plant and products. Measurements, analysis and development in the monitoring of welfare of animals. Engineering techniques in the control of micro-environment applied to man: climate control, clothing design, helmets, ...
