Nieuwe air interface en front-end compensatie voor hoog-debiet 60GHz multi-antenne communicatie.|
We are witnessing an explosive growth in the demand for wireless connectivity. This can be seen from the widespread use of mobile phones, but also the use of wireless technology in house and office. Wireless technologies like Bluetooth are omnipresent. For this type of applications, demand for higher data rates over short ranges is rising for fast wireless downloads or high-definition wireless video. However, frequencies below 10 GHz are getting completely congested. Therefore, we have to look at higher frequencies for the needed bandwidth. Regulation assigned a more than 3 GHz wide band, globally available, for this kind of applications around 60 Ghz. In this PhD research project, a suitable air interface for 60 GHz communication is developed, based on continuous phase modulation (CPM) with frequency domain equalization. Next, the influence of the main front-end nonidealities on this air interface is being investigated. Finally, multi-antenna techniques are added.
