Reform of the legal instruments.

The research is aimed at: 1. investigating to what extent the present system of legal instruments of the Union is no longer adequate to address the complex reality of the EU, and why; 2. investigating which basic principles (should) steer the reform of the Unions system of legal instruments; 3. inquirine which alternative designs for het Union's system of legal instruments are feasible, taking into account the results of parts 1 & 2 and the limits of respect for the acquis communautaire.
