Title:
Public communication about policy intentions in the international perspective: role of the media and legal/deontological stipulations.
Project summary:
This PDM focuses on the attitude, role and experience of journalists regarding external communication of policy intentions from politicians. In-depth interviews are conducted. Furthermore, the attitude and role of citizens is analyzed by means of focus group discussions. Finally, the framing and quality of media coverage of policy intentions is analyzed using a case: the Belgian federal cannabis debate from 1999-2005.
