From Tuesday May 15th until Wednesday May 30th the Museum Hall (University Hall, Naamsestraat 22) is suitable as a study area from 9am until 7 pm.
Pay attention: this room is closed on saturdays, sundays and Ascension Thursday May 17th.

| 2012-04-23: KU Leuven high schoool associates need a library card |
To have free access as a high school student to the KU Leuven libraries during the exam period a library card is required. This card can be requested in any KU Leuven library before May 25th 2012.
If you still not have a library card after May 25th, access will only be granted when you pay for a day card (2,50 euro + 5,00 euro deposit)
This applies until the end of BlokkenInLeuven (June 29th 2012). |

| 2012-02-01: More online journals for KU Leuven |
KU Leuven students and researchers will get access to the current issues of all Oxford (200) and Cambridge (300) University press Journals.
The University Lirary also bought new content published in the backissues of Elsevier and other publishers f.e. via JSTOR.
The access to all these journal articles will asap become available via LIMO (search via journal title>click "view online") |

From January 2nd until February 1st, you are welcome to study in SBIB. On the website www.blokkeninleuven.be, you can see where you can find enough study space.
From Tu 27nd until Fri 30th of December 2011, you can already go to the Central Library.

To get access to group work room 1, 2 or the TV viewing room, it's necessary to borrow the key at the loan desk. After usage you can return the key at the loan desk.

The webaddress of SBIB has changed this year. You can reach the homepage via www.kuleuven.be/sbib/English and all other pages will have /web/ in the address. Whoever still has an old bookmark (with /2008/ in the address), would be best to change it. |

| 2011-09-26: New discovery service LIMO |
From this academic year on, the discovery service Limo is the central access point to the collections of the K.U.Leuven libraries. You can now discover in a single search what sources are available on a certain topic.
What can you find in Limo ? Books and journals from the libraries, but also articles and other documents from important databases and e-journal collections that are available within the institution. It further contains all publications that are available in Lirias, the research repository of K.U.Leuven. The current content can later be extended with other interesting sources such as important digitized collections.
Some advantages of Limo:
- print and electronic publications via one search interface,
- search results by default ordered by relevance,
- search results easily refined by use of facets (filters),
- suggestions for further reading via “Recommendations”
Take a look at LIMO and discover the new search features to find information in these rich collections.
Of course, an extended help function is available. Your feedback is always welcome, for this you can use the button “Feedback” on the top right corner of every screen.
At this moment, the university library of the K.U.Leuven is the only university library in Belgium that offers such a tool. Limo is based on the software PRIMO, a product of the Ex Libris Group, one of the important providers of library software.

Starting academic year 2011-2012 the University Library issues new rates for Inter Library Loan services. The pricing is simplified and from now on the same rates apply at all ILL-centrals of the library.

| 2011-04-29: UniCat: Catalogue Belgian Libraries |
Unicat: UniCat has recently been made available online. It is the union catalog of Belgian academic libraries, holding some 14 million records from the Royal Library of Belgium and a list of universities (among which the K.U.Leuven), schools for higher education, heritage institutions, museum libraries and other institutions and organizations. Also included are the catalogues of two library networks, ANET and LIBISnet. Other libraries and library networks can join and are expected to do so once the UniCat service is in full production.

K.U.Leuven has now trial access via SpingerLink to all e-books written in English and published by Springer in the period 2005-2010. This e-books collection contains over 17,000 publications, also useful for the Social Sciences: Anthropology, Media and Communication, Political Sciences and International Relations, Sociology and Social Work. The CAIRN database gives accès to about 280 French-language journals in full text, starting from 2001 up until now CAIRN.Info.
