Werken in diplomatie, Europese instellingen en Verenigde Naties

Deze informatie-avond bestaat uit 2 delen. In een eerste deel wordt een overzicht gegeven van de diplomatieke en consulaire loopbaan, de organisatie van het diplomatiek examen, de opleiding en de stage. In het tweede deel wordt een beeld gegeven van de loopbaanmogelijkheden binnen de Europese instellingen en diensten van de Verenigde Naties.

Tussen en na beide sessies zijn er informatiestands van EURES (European Employment Services), Europe Direct, AEGEE en JEF. Tevens is er mogelijkheid voor verdere contacten met de sprekers.

Deze avond wordt georganiseerd i.s.m. het Vlaams-Europees verbindingsagentschap.

Working in (Belgian) diplomacy, EU and UN-organisation

During the first part of the evening information about working in (Belgian) diplomacy will be presented. This information will be presented in Dutch The second part will provide information about working in EU en UN-services. Language of this second part is English

Between and after the sessions you can visit information stands of EURES (European Employment Services), Europe Direct, AEGEE and JEF. There is also possibility for more informal contact with the speakers.

This evening is organised in cooperation with the Liaison Agency Flanders Europe.

•    Working for the EU (e.g. what is it/to expect, working conditions/environment and salaries/benefits, rights & obligations, language and multicultural aspects, etc.)
•    Type of jobs/job contracts (e.g. what kind of people are the institutions looking for, university/non-university, temporary/administrator/experts/secondment, opportunities for young graduates/professionals, work places inside/outside EU, etc.)
•    Application and selection process (e.g. where to find vacancies, how and when to apply, how does an EPSO-concours look like, how to prepare, what are my chances to succeed, national quota)”
