Accident insurance

As an international student you are insured if - upon registration at the KUleuven - you paid your third party liability insurance. Should you or a member of your family be involved in an accident, the social service will help you with the insurance paperwork. We get in touch with the qualified insurance company and we are agent between you and the insurance company. When you are involved in an accident, it is important to inform us as quickly as possible. Don’t just inform us about a road accident but also about any other damage you suffer from or caused. The social service offers you a brochure with information about the accident and liability insurance.

All kinds of mediation

During your stay, it is possible that you will have to communicate with public authorities, services, commercial organizations, etc. You may receive letters or bills from tax authorities, health insurance, the court, the city of Leuven, the electricity company, etc. It is important that you react appropriately. If it is unclear what is expected from you, you can come and ask for more explanation at the sociale service. We can also look up more information if necessary, and even mediate for you.
