Individual Study Programme (ISP)

Before you can even start drawing up a schedule, you have to complete your ISP and send it in for approval via internet. Go to the application via your K.U.Loket and log in with your id (m-number or s-number) and password. Next to your ‘Student file ’ you will also find the application ‘my study programme (ISP)’ in the menu. It is advisable that you read the manual first.

With the application ‘My Study Programme (ISP)’ you can compose your official programme for each of your registrations at KU Leuven for the current academic year. This means that you select the courses you want to follow and which you want to be evaluated for. Check if your faculty organises information sessions on study choice and the ISP. Consult the homepage of your faculty or contact your faculty’s student administration.

  • Compose your programme before the third wednesday of the academic year at the latest. After that, the application will be closed for students and you will have to contact the faculty directly to complete your programme.
  • The official approval of your programme will be accomplished during the weeks after you send your programme and at the latest by the 15th of November. You will be informed of this approval by e-mail.
  • Different than in some countries, there is no numerus clausus when applying for a course. Every student who wants to follow a particular course and has indicated this course in his or her ISP, is permitted to follow this course.
  • An overview of your approved programme and an individual time schedule based on your programme can be found in K.U.Loket.
  • The application will be available and changeable again in the second semester for all students between the first of february and the third wednesday of the second semester. You will no longer be able to change your first semester programme at that time.

For more information about ISP, you can contact the people responsible for the ISP

Information for students with an exam contract, credit contract or part-time registration.

In case you have an exam contract or a credit contract: it is possible that you cannot select certain programme modules because the faculty has excluded them for this type of contract. In the syllabus of each programme module in the online programme guide, you can find an indication whether this module is excluded or not. Click on the code of the programme module to consult the syllabusof the different KU Leuven programmes.

In case you are studying part-time, you have to register part-time for the programme of study via the web registration or via the registrar’s office. Compose your programme and make a selection from the full-time programme for only a part of the total number of credits (for half-time this is between 25 and 35 credits per academic year).
