ADAPT CD-ROM – a step forward for developing a common European curriculum in Adapted Physical Activity.

CD rom presentationThe THENAPA co-ordinating team in collaboration with the Norwegian THENAPA network presented ADAPT CD-ROM at the 20th World Congress of Rehabilitation International, organised from 21st to 24th of June 2004 in Oslo, Norway. The session was highly attended and great interest was expressed from participants from Africa and the Far East. During the conference, a regional meeting which was attended by the THENAPA national representatives from the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland) was organised.
The aim of the academic programme of the congress was an ambitious one. The organisers wanted to stimulate the participants to exchange ideas and practices, to provide new perspectives and concepts, which enables to discuss and further develop the rehabilitation field long after the closing of the World Congress.
Whether we live and work in industrial countries or developing countries - whether we are involved in rehabilitation as users, practitioners, researchers or politicians - we all need to reflect upon and critically consider our theories and methods.
