Training and employment

Within the social economy, the creation of jobs is an explicit goal.
VELO offers meaningfull work experience and training to young people and disadvantaged people to help them find the way to the regular job market.
We do this through :

teaching them the basics of metal- and biketechnics
attention for social skills
improving of work ethics
socialisation training

VELO offers a ( temporary ) and work experience to young people in part-time education, ILW, living wagers and alternatively punished.

The training and employment at VELO is based on the teaching of bike technics. VELO gets bikes from the city to facilitate this.

The police finds bikes regularly or has to take them away because they were parked wrong. Owners of bikes that are engraved, are notified that they can collect their bike. Other bikes remain 6 months at the police office and if they are not claimed, they are gifted to VELO.

The employees fix the bikes and rent them to students. VELO helps the participants with technique, social skills and work ethic. This intensive and individual approach translates in the search for adequate employment.
