KU Leuven - Images of a University
When walking through Leuven and Heverlee, it’s impossible not to notice the University’s many iconic buildings. Less visible but equally striking are the interiors of these buildings. To celebrate KU Leuven’s 600th anniversary, renowned art photographer Karin Borghouts presents an impressive visual portrayal of the university. Through her lens, we see fresh and unexpected perspectives on the university’s rich architectural heritage: from colleges and faculty buildings, laboratories and libraries to lecture halls and student residences.
Vesalius Museum: a new thematic museum dedicated to science, healthcare and society
The former hospital site in the heart of Leuven is buzzing with activity. KU Leuven and UZ Leuven are joining forces to thoroughly renovate the Anatomical Theatre and Pathological Institute and repurpose these unique historical buildings as Vesalius Museum. The museum draws on both the University’s and hospital’s rich heritage collections to tell the story of science, healthcare and society – from their past to their future.
