Routes to Knowledge. 600 Years of University in Leuven – University Library
This exhibition on 600 years of the University of Leuven, explores the role of the university at the junction of several routes and reconstructs the sometimes-tortuous trajectory of the institution. We present a widely accessible and attractive story through heritage artifacts, audio-visual elements, and interactive experiences.
We follow the paths of the first female students, of notable researchers and renowned alumni, showcasing how their search for wisdom and knowledge not only led them to Leuven, but also opened doors further afield.
The Pursuit of Knowledge - M Leuven
The galleries of M highlight the University of Leuven’s study collections, showcasing an array of fascinating and diverse objects. You will encounter observation instruments, remarkable pieces from the Zoology Museum and the Thermotechnical Institute, as well as items from ethnographic collections that bear witness to the colonial past of the University. Additionally, a recently acquired masterpiece, the Leuven Chansonnier, is also shown in an immersive experience that brings the music from this precious manuscript to life. The exhibition ends with a sculpture garden featuring casts of world-famous works of art.
