KU Leuven Pride Week 2025

On May 17, 1990, the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the internationally recognized list of diseases. To mark this International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), various initiatives will be taking place at our university for an entire week.

Organisation

The university's commitment to diversity is supported by a dynamic network of more than 100 participants in faculties, offices and campuses (Diversity Teams).
The Diversity Council is the key figure in the decision-making process.

The diversity policy is aimed at helping staff and students with diverse backgrounds achieve their full potential. In addition, it focuses on students by teaching them a nuanced approach to the increasing diversity in society.

Inclusion at KU Leuven

In 2021 students and employees participated in 24 roundtable discussions on the values of safety, respect and inclusion at KU Leuven. This informed us to identify the gaps and set ambitions for the future. An inclusive university is also included as a cross-cutting theme in the strategic objectives (2021-2025) for the entire university.
