The Slovak Society for Catholic Theology was established by the Conference of Bishops of Slovakia (KBS) at the 56th plenary session in Prešov on 12 February 2007 and was formally initiated at the first constituent assembly on 18 May 2007 in the priest seminary in Badín with the participation of the Rev. Bishop Rudolf Baláž and the President of the European Society of Theologians Lieven Boeve. The Slovak Society belongs to The European Society for Catholic Theology (ESCT).
