1. The Master in Cultural Studies has a broad knowledge of contemporary issues within cultural theory.
2. The Master in Cultural Studies can analyze contemporary cultural objects and/or phenomena from an interdisciplinary point of view.
3. The Master in Cultural Studies has a thorough understanding of national and international cultural policies, and their impact on specific creative practices.
4. The Master in Cultural Studies has a broad knowledge of contemporary culture, including high and low culture and digital culture.
5. The Master's in Cultural Studies can combine insights, theories and methods from different scholarly fields in an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary approach.
6. The Master in Cultural Studies has insight into the functioning of a specific cultural practice.

Research skills

7. The Master in Cultural Studies can process scientific literature in Dutch and English independently, critically analyze it and take a stand on it.
8. The Master in Cultural Studies is able to independently define a research object from an interdisciplinary, broad-cultural perspective.
9. The Master in Cultural Studies is able, as a starting researcher, under the supervision of a supervisor, to conceive, plan and carry out research.
10. The Master in Cultural Studies is able to independently formulate a research question and find relevant literature about it.
11. The Master in Cultural Studies is able to use various methods, both qualitatively and quantitatively, in the analysis of a cultural object or phenomenon.
12. The Master in Cultural Studies can report in group on the progress of his/her own research and is able to reflect critically on his/her research with peers.
13. The Master of Cultural Studies is able to independently develop its own scientific research into a written result of reasonable size (approx. 160,000 characters), in a well-structured, correctly formulated and scientifically sound manner.
